Hi, First post, just started using opnsense for Home use,
I've been using pfsense in production at work, i also have very limited experience with networks.
just got my hands on a very old centrum gi945 thinclient . so far the basic operation is fine, but ive been looking for adblocking with opnsense,

I have looked at sensei but the basic requirement is 8gb ram and the thinclient only has 1Gb with an atom 270

any suggestions?
thanks.

AdGuard Home. You need to activate the community repository for that:

I've been thinking about doing this with a pi-hole. I don't really like that pi-hole is in python as opposed to go, and requires root. I did see blocky which is small and stand-a-lone Go executable, (like Adguard Home), however it has no integration to opnsense. This video has performance metrics for the three options.

Then there's pfblocker, which can be used with opnsense. It looks like it integrates nicely. I found this video Lawrence Tech video which shows it with pfsense, however adding those rules to pf may impact performance as there's a lot of rules.

A pcustom plugin for blocky is available at https://github.com/gspannu/OPNsense-Plugins/
