node_exporter and Mimir

I was thinking about setting up Grafana's Mimir and send metrics via node_exporter to it, but the available node_exporter in OPNsense is version 1.1 which is more than 1.5 years old (that is if the versions are matched) and I have no idea whether that version supports to push metrics.

I would rather avoid having to setup Prometheus as well just for scraping the metrics. Well, I could also setup an OTel Collector GW with a Prometheus Receiver, but why not send it directly if possible...

Has anyone successfully sent metrics to Mimir?
