haproxy in opnsense vs manually installed on another dedicated machine.

I've currently got haproxy running on a dedicated vm but was wondering what the differences are between that and running it in opnsense? Is it the same version/features or is there anything different? Would I gain / loose any functionality if I were to retire the VM and use haproxy inside opnsense?
Thank you,
