installation defective

need help with installation. I get to installer. I choose number 2 for single user and importer said no file on DVD?

By the way the provided instructions are in accurate. importer does not allow for logging in as installer with password opnsense.

What do you mean by "2 for single user"? You are not supposed to do that. You boot the install medium to full operation without intervening at the boot loader prompt, then login as user "installer" with password "opnsense".

Could you describe your hardware, please? Why are you trying to install on ada1 and not on ada0? You are booting from USB, right?

First guess: there is some remnants of a former operating system installation on that ada1 drive. Try to wipe it before attempting installation.

usb dvd drive. dvd disc. supermicro motherboard. dual processors. 500gb dual hdd.

tried both ada0 and ada1. same result.

will format both drives.
