Possible to use sub-subdomains for DHCP hostname?

I have a network at
network.example.com
. Devices can be reached by their hostnames at
device1.network.example.com
. I would like to add an additional level of subdomains to group devices, for example,
camera1.cam.network.example.com
where
cam
is the extra level. Is that possible? Specifying a device's hostname with the additional subdomain like
camera1.cam
does not work.

SOLVED:
When setting a static IP for the device in DHCPv4, specify "Domain name" as cam.network.example.com
