DEC850 - enabling IPS results in no WAN access

Hi,
I am running a DEC850 with 21.7.1. All working great, but once I enable IPS the WAN goes down after a few minutes.
Configuration:
WAN - igb0, DHCP, all HW acceleration turned off
LAN - ax1, all HW acceleration turned off
Guest - vlan on ax1
IPS settings:
Promiscuous mode - off
Interfaces: LAN, WAN
Detection works with no issue but turning IPS on will work for only a few minutes before all access to the WAN is lost. Lan stays up.
Anybody else having IPS enabled on a DEC850/840?
I tried the exact same configuration on different hardware (Lanner NCA-1510, all interfaces are igb) and have no issue.
