Whitelist mode and adblock

Heya!

Im a new user to OPNsense and have tried to find what i'm looking for but nothing that hits the spot and here I am hoping someone has already knows where to go.

With whitelist mode i'm looking for a way to block every incoming/outgoing connection on wan and only allow certain ip (or preferably domain names if possible). Reason is that I want to cut out any device calling home and at the same time don't have to monitor it. That way if I wanna connect to the "outside", then i'll have to use a VPN and by doing this there shouldn't be anything thats communicating at night.

Let me know if you think my reasoning is wrong

Regarding adblock I was hoping for a plugin to download and update through the OPNsense UI if there is anything like that maintained?
