Trouble with router as access point

Hello, new user here.
I followed a tutorial for pfsense (I assume would work for OPNsense as well) to have a router act as a simple access point. Currently I am just using the router my ISP provided. My current setup is modem—>WAN on FW—>LAN on FW—>LAN on router. My firewall is acting as a dhcp server and my router broadcasting my SSIDs(with dhcp off). Everything is on the same subnet of 192.168.11.X. My devices connecting via wifi get an IP, and have internet connections for 2 minutes tops. After that it cuts the connection and my router no longer accepts the password to connect to my SSIDs.
I have no idea what would cause my router to suddenly stop accepting passwords, but when I revert my changes and properly connect my router to my modem everything comes back up. Only thing that changes is the firewall placement but I’m not sure what could be the issue. Any ideas?
