Hello I just setup a Athlon X2 5200+ with 2gb of ram and 1TB hard drive with OPNSense 19.7 and I have some questions.
Background: I was previously using a Tomatoe router, and have multiple other routers connected with dhcp disabled to expand my network.
1. Is it possible to see all connected LAN devices?
2. For each of those LAN devices can I see how much bandwidth they are pulling and from which external IP that connection is on? I run into issues where a computer is taking all the bandwidth but the users of the computer is not aware. And I would like to be able to find out why my network is behaving the way it is.
3. Can I setup somthing like PI-hole to block ad's that consume my precious bandwidth?
4. I have a very slow connection and lots of people sharing the connection, is it possible to fairly split the connection dynamicaly? EG 4Mbps Down/ 1Mbps UP, 1 user online gets full speed, 2 users online half and half. 4 users online 1Mbps Down/250Kbps up to each.
4.5. If dynamicaly splitting the connection is not possible can I give a static amount to a specified IP/MAc address, and the remainder to the rest of the network?
5. I have a 1TB install drive for OPNSense can I setup a cache to further reduce the amount of data that gets pulled from my WAN connection?
I though I was fairly knowledgable about networking, however i looked through the OPNSense GUI with all help turned on and I dont understand a large majority of the terms they are foreign to me.
