Running a query in the VnStat tabs (hourly, daily, monthly, yearly) only returns the following message:

Error: Failed to get interface id from database (1): no such column: igb1
Error: Failed to fetch hourly data.

Not sure what happened here...hopefully not file corruption.  The upgrade went smooth and vnstat did not look to be updated in this release.  igb1 is my wan interface and that's all I capture.  Anyone else seeing this issue?  Thx.

Just in case anyone else has these issues I'll mention them.  I marked them as solved to clarify I don't need assistance...this is just FYI.

First, I had to manually remove the ntopng repository.  "pkg remove ntop-1.0" took care of that.  The error I was something like repository not found.

Second, I was then able to get to and install the first beta, but then I could not get to the second beta.  I tried using the command line option 12 to update from the terminal because the UI was failing without any messages.  In fact, the UI would just sit there and spin as if I never asked it to do anything, no CPU, nothing.  Apparently you can't do this upgrade from the command line, it would just loop back to the first beta I already had installed telling me all packages were up to date.

I switched back to Community and then back to Development with the same results.  Finally after searching, it turned out the problem was FIREFOX.  Switching to Chrome solved that problem with the UI, maybe if I had emptied the cache in firefox it would have worked.  In all, that took about an hour trying to figure out what was going on.  Once I switched, the second beta installed along with FreeBSD 13.  Then switching back to Community I was able to update to 22rc1.  :)

Haven't seen any issues thus far.  I did not reinstall ntop...figured I'd wait for RC2 or 22.1  I did have to manually remove and reinstall htop.

Big thanks to the Devs!

Installed as new on my test machine (HP T620 thin client) using hybrid zfs option (and tmp/var in RAM option after restoring config).  Couple issues.

1) Vnstat does not start, has the following error message in backend logs:

[a4036e6c-0f4d-4220-9282-436aa8ed4717] Script action failed with Command '/usr/local/bin/vnstat -m ' returned non-zero exit status 1. at Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/local/opnsense/service/modules/processhandler.py", line 478, in execute subprocess.check_call(script_command, env=self.config_environment, shell=True, File "/usr/local/lib/python3.8/subprocess.py", line 364, in check_call raise CalledProcessError(retcode, cmd) subprocess.CalledProcessError: Command '/usr/local/bin/vnstat -m ' returned non-zero exit status 1.

Tried changing the interface settings to WAN and then LAN but no difference.  This is running behind my production router...I doubt that should make a difference.

2) Zabbix client won't start.  Noticed it's in plugins twice, once at the top in red indicating the package is missing...

os-zabbix-agent (missing)   1.10   50.1KiB   OPNsense   Zabbix monitoring agent

It's also listed further down as such:

os-zabbix54-agent (installed)   1.10   50.1KiB   OPNsense   Zabbix monitoring agent

Running the automatic resolver in firmware settings, I get this each time.

For zabbix, I don't see any messages in the system log.

Thanks!  Great work and exciting.

PS - One question, was sort of expecting DNSCrypt-proxy 2.1.1 which has some new features, it had been requested a while back from at least one other user but it's absent.  I've been manually running the new version in production for past couple months (replacing binary and pointing to a custom config).  I can continue doing this, but just curious.  Thx!

UPDATE: Zabbix was a config setting...it starts now.

Logging into to the webui, I get in large type the message "411 Length Required" (same in both firefox and chrome).  Thought maybe updating to the hotfix (21.1.8_1) might correct it, but did not.  I restarted the webui and that also did not work.  Checking if lighttpd is running it apparently is as it returns a process ID using pgrep lighttpd.

Any suggestions?

Edit: I can access from an ipad...there's no cert installed there.

Edit: OK, this appears related to Bitdefender, disabling it allows it to work.  Disabling protection on bf and re-enabling solved the problem.

Is anyone having issues with the firewall log widget no longer populating?  Mine is blank, has been since upgrading.  Checked settings for it (i.e., interfaces, filters), changed themes, verified there are log records to display, ran health audit, but nothing.  In the webgui log I can see the data is being requested, "configd.py[57004]   [cbdb2625-352b-4fce-a587-1ed355d12979] request filter log output".

Anything else to check?  Thx!

Used to work fine before logging targets (and somehow my legacy settings carried through until 20.7), but now trying to accomplish this with the new LT option and no success.  I can see the data being written to /var/log/filter.log in an SSH window but for whatever reason I cannot get that data to route using the logging targets mechanism.

Other messages will write to the syslog so I know the settings are right, just nothing from filter.log.  Is there a trick to this...?  Assuming I'm missing something obvious.  And just to be clear, I'm looking for the messages that are generated in the Live Firewall Log to be routed external.

Thanks.

This is specific to the dashboard Firewall Logs module.  It seems if there aren't enough records in the firewall log it will repeat the lines that are available in order to populate to the specific number of lines in the preference.  In my situation I have 2 records in the firewall logs but choose to show 12 lines.  Those two records get repeated to fill the 12 lines.  See attachment.  Not sure if I should be reporting this here.  Thx.

20.1 Legacy Series / 20.1.4 - ntopng
April 08, 2020, 11:25:48 PM
Thanks Franco!  Just updated no issues, but am seeing higher than normal CPU that looks to be attributable to ntopng.  It varies between 50 and 100 (gui) vs normal idle of between 0 and 25.  Looking at it via "top" it looks very high (50 to 300%).  Not sure...maybe others can chime in...I've disabled it for now.  Looks like that's an updated package too, but no mention in the release notes (?).  Again, thanks and stay healthy!

20.1 Legacy Series / MBUF Usage percent
February 14, 2020, 08:14:47 PM
Searched for an answer, but couldn't find anything relevant.  Basically, is there an issue when the MBUF gets too large (assuming that would be 100%)?  Does this value (or should it) ever shrink in size?  Mine does not.  I don't remember this being an ever-growing value when I first starting using OPNsense about six months ago, though I could be mistaken.  In any case, any guidance or information would be appreciated.

Thanks and cheers!
