Honestly, after a year of running OPNsense smoothly with mostly default settings, that already says a lot about how stable the platform has become. I also agree with Seimus here — people often focus too much on "ping" as a single number, while things like jitter, packet loss, bufferbloat, and even the game's own netcode/tick rate usually matter more for the actual experience. FQ_CoDel still seems to be the sweet spot on FreeBSD-based systems right now unless you specifically run into congestion issues severe enough to justify deeper tuning. Would definitely love to see CAKE support someday though, especially since it simplified SQM so much on Linux/OpenWrt setups. slope game
