I managed to get it working :-)

I put an switch between the OPN device, then OPN LAN -> switch port 2 then wifi cable to switch port 3 and one cable from OPN lan to switch port 1

so you mean put an switch in OPT1 on protectli and the wifi cable in the switch and that should work?

I'm new to OPNsense, so fare I like it. I did use and unifi Edgerouter X where I have plugged in an smart Wifi Airties 4096 I believe.
can I do that on OPNsense to be able to get wifi support? or do I need to look for an USB wifi dongle?

My system:
I use an Protectli FW4B

these are connected with an eth cable from the port1 on the AirTies to the OPT1 on the Protectli
