General Discussion / Re: How to factory reset a DEC740?
January 21, 2025, 10:30:42 PM
Oh, I have console access and log in as the admin included in the config I uploaded. Unfortunately, that account isn't "in the sudoers file" so I can't sudo and move or overwrite the /conf/config.xml file.

I'll try dropping into the shell. I was there earlier. I'll make a run at the config.xml from there.

Thanks,

M

Hi Patrick. I suspected as much. Doh!

What are the eth port names? My SSH display doesn't show the menu with option to reassign ports. How do I do that if my login doesn't have su access?

If nothing else, I could install an SFP/Eth converter. :-)

Thanks,

M

General Discussion / How to factory reset a DEC740?

Hi there,

I loaded my OPNsense config from a former Protectli, assigned ax0 to WAN and ax1 to LAN and, after a reboot, can't get back in. SSH shows the IP addresses assigned to those ports.

I can't find any documentation that maps the physical ports to the linux names. Nor, can I find a means to factory reset. My ssh login isn't "in the sudoers file" so I can't sudo and move the /conf/config.xml file.

What options do I have? What physical port is my LAN on now?

Thanks, in advance, for your help.

Michael
