I have recently set up OPNSense as a router in PPPOE mode. I don't know much about networking and so far have configured using different queries from the forum and some guide videos. I have static internet connection from my ISP, coming in as PPPOE so there's no double NATing or double routing. I'm getting NAT type 3.

I set up a seperate VLAN called gaming only for game consoles. I would like to open ports for it to have the Playstation NAT type changed to 2 or 1. I tried setting up port forwarding but I'm stuck as either the set up is incorrect or some other problem as the NAT type is still showing Type 3.

On a seperate note, I'm getting higher pings on wifi now on OPNSense and internet drops drastically from time to time, which the ISP claims to be the router's problem.

Any help on either matter would be highly appreciated. TIA.

I have recently installed OPNsense on my old CPU and tried to use it as an internet router. Initially after installation the net was not working, so I connected the LAN cable and used a guide on youtube to set up everything from 192.168.1.1. However, the guide was incredibly complex and I left it halfway. Then in order to follow a basic guide I connected my CPU to a monitor and chose the restore defaults option. It restarted and then I tried assigning WAN interface, where is said to press a to automatically detect WAN. I pressed it and then it stuck. I unplugged it and then turned it on again, but since then, there has been no output through the VGA and no sound to confirm opnsense is on, although the CPU is running. What should I do?

Hey sorry for posting here, this might not be relevent here but I'm new in the community and have no idea on how to post a query. I have recently installed OPNsense on my old CPU and tried to use it as an internet router. Initially after installation I connected the LAN cable and used a guide on youtube to set up everything from 192.168.1.1. However, the guide was incredibly complex and I left it halfway. Then in order to follow a basic guide I connected my CPU to a monitor and chose the restore defaults option, in doing so, something happened and the CPU won't give out any output to monitor when opened and no sound that indicates that it is open correctly. What do I do?
