Web Proxy Filtering and Caching / Re: Trouble with proxing access to domains
« on: October 13, 2023, 04:45:57 pm »
I have runned several tests to see what was wrong.
Somethings I have discovered.
For the configuration I set, I had to hit one of the OPNsense IPs (lan or wan), this would reach HAProxy and proxy it to the destination I want.
So, my assuption is, I should have ALL traffic passing by HAproxy, so it can decide when proxy to my local server and when not, right?
Ok, assuming this is right, I have another question, in my configuration I have set a rule to macth my URL let's say it was http://something.somethingelse.online but, when i reach the OPNsense ip (192.168.1.1) it still handle the proxy showing the contents of said URL. Why? Spend a couple hours setting diff rules and configurations but did not manage to fix this.
And for that strange rule problem, i did not move forward with tests to set all traffic to be handle with HAproxy with fear of losing access to anything else.
Any thoughs or comentaries? This is all alien to me, so is having me a lot of pain and headaches.
