tried dial the priority of ipv6 gateway down to 253 solved this problem, but I am not sure why, it works flawless at previous version.
but I am not yet tried restart or reconnect the pppoe, so not sure if it's 100% fixed.

SLAAC address? On DHCPv6 mode? ;)

Cheers,
Franco

I am using DHCPv6 to get a prefix from ISP.

I am using pppoe and dhcpv6 to get public IPv6 address from ISP, but after upgraded to 24.7, the public address disappeared.
I can see it become available for a very short time, then disappeared from the interface overview.
Also the dynamic DNS service cannot find the public address too.
:'(

Okay, thank you for the reply.

So the feature is supported by Kea, but not implemented yet in OPNsense correct?
#5
Hi there,
I am using latest version of OPNsense(OPNsense 24.1.3_1-amd64)

I didn't find any options on GUI can set different gateway & dns server for each entry of reservations.

Is this not supported by Kea DHCP?
currently this is available in ISC DHCP server.

That's probably a side effect of recreating the bridge interface during editing it. Not much we can do here.

Cheers,
Franco

okay, but maybe a nice message print after modified the bridge interface would be helpful. Took some time to figure out this issue.

Ok... but... are you talking about IPv4 or IPv6? Link-local only makes sense for IPv6, right?

But then the fact remains you are reloading a bridge or interface, but not a DHCP server? ;)

Cheers,
Franco

Ok, sorry for the bad expliantion, yes I know link-local is an IPv6 thing, and yes the problem is I reloaded the bridge/interface, but shouldn't DHCPv4 server reloaded automatically? Manually reload the DHCPv4 server indeed resolved this issue, the DHCPv6 server is disabled.

I don't quite get the report, sorry. The link-local option is in the bridge, not the interface settings?

Cheers,
Franco

No, I mean, before the bridge link-local is disabled, after I enabled it and save the changes, the DHCP server running on the bridge is not reloaded, that caused the DHCP server is not handling client requests.

My OPN box has a LAN bridge, after Enable link-local address, and save the interface settings, DHCP server on this bridge is not reloaded caused DHCP server cannot process client request.

with error: receive_packet failed on bridge0: Device not configured

Yes, my bad then. You can manually add the following patch:

https://github.com/opnsense/update/commit/bd59f2dff5

# opnsense-patch -c update bd59f2dff5
# /usr/local/etc/rc.configure_firmware

Cheers,
Franco

Okay, after manually add the patch and run the command, and update from ssh session, it works, but on the webUI, ui/core/firmware#status still loading, and nothing in that tab, also the plugin tab and package tab are empty.

here is the full log:

The timeout is 30 seconds. The problem is the download appears active so the timeout is never reached.

Cheer,
Franco

okay, seems found the problem, after select the alternative mirror, the system still trying to get update from pkg.opnsense.org
and connection from China to this site is supper slow...
And the "status" tab in firmware update page is keep loading, never stop, even restart the system.

Try the dns-root one, it is a Cloudflare geo thing.

Cheers,
Franco

Okay, thank you!
I suggest lower the timeout for update, or let user manually set, this is really frustrating.... Has to wait the very long timeout.
Or give user a button to cancel current download.

It could have ran into a timeout. The main server is in Amsterdam, but the question is which one you picked and where you are located. But this could also be ISP related.

Cheers,
Franco

I am using: https://opnsense.aivian.org
tried few other location, still the same, I am located at China

Ok, so the download is slow?

Cheers,
Franco

Not sure, where is the server located? 140 MB size, and ended with signature invalid...
