I am not getting the redirect error now, but it is giving Forbidden with a blank screen :(

Hi,

I am trying to setup Caddy on Opnsense for Synology NAS and have similar issues.

Would you mind to please share the solution to resolve this issue?

I too have the redirect issue.  BTW I have created the A record on Cloudflare for Synology (nas.mydomain.com)

Thanks in advance for the help.

Hello,

I have installed Caddy with LE, and have no issues with Opnsense access.

For some reason my Synology NAS worked fine for a while and then I am getting the error message.

This page isn't working nas.domain.com redirected you too many times.

ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS.

Also I am not able. to setup reverse proxy for Portainer and Couchdb installed on docker in Synology NAS. I have used the same settings for all of the them. And only Opnsense is working for me.

Can someone help me to fix the issue and I can share more information if needed to understand the issue.

Thank you in advance.

Thank you for the recommendation, I do have some old wireless routers like Synology RT2600AC and Netgear AX1800 but looking to upgrade to 6E AP along with Opnsense.

hi all,

if you have a virtualization or a small standalone device with wireless hardware available/left over, try https://raspap.com/ (debian-based)

cheers

Wau this looks awesome. I am thinking to upgrade my AP as well, maybe will try it out. Thank you for this!

Thank you @lilsense.

I see Eero Pro 6E and it covers 2000 sqft with one AP, to cover 6000 it requires set of 3 AP as per their website.

They are offering monthly plan for premium features which I assume is not required and I can leverage what is offered in Opnsense

Thank you @hushcoden, I will check out Aruba AP

Thank you all for the inputs.

So far I have only found Ubquiti U6 Enterprise model which offers 6E.

I checked EnGenius but ECW336 - 6E model offered is $699, which is bit expensive.

Hello Everyone,

I have recently moved to Opnsense for my home network and I am looking for recommendation to install the Access Point for Wifi access .

I have tried using Intel AX210 6E wireless card and Mediatek MT7921K wireless card in the N5105 router/firewall for Wifi access point, but do not get good speed and coverage.

Can some one recommend me good 6E access point which can cover around 2000 sqft area, one of the model I am looking out is Ubquiti 6E access point.

Any help for recommendation is appreciated.

Thanks!

Yes, I am also looking forward to replace my existing AP with DIY AP. I will check out another pcie card on Aliexpress that supports multiple radio, 2.4, 5 & 56 ghz.

On Aliexpress the sellers mention multiple frequencies for wifi adapter but do not specify multiple radio in the specification. How do we find out if the card supports multiple radio frequencies, do you know if Mediatek MT7921K support multiple radios?

Thank you Zan for the help again.

I have reinstalled openwrt and followed the updated steps and AP is finally working :)

I will play with for fine tuning as the speed is too low ...but atleast it is working now.

Once again THANK YOU for all the help, really appreciate it.

One more question, is it possible to configure Triband (2.4, 5 & 6 GHz) on Openwrt since AX210 is a triband adapter.

Thank you Zan for the help.

I have installed hostapd-openssl, still radio0 show Inactive.
Please see the attached screenshot.

Tried a lot with different setting in Openwrt, but no luck.

The AP is disabled in Openwrt for some reason.

Maybe I will order another Wifi adapter (MediaTek MT7921K), which will arrive in 2 weeks from Aliexpress.

I will try again with the new adapter.

Thank you Zan for the help!

Hi Zan,

I have enabled the Wireless settings in OpenWrt, and I can see the wireless SSID on the openwrt gui summary screen, but I do not see these Wifi SSID on my laptop.

Am I missing something to make the Wifi Access Point available to connect the laptop?

Thanks in advance.
