Was never able to resolve this, switched to pfsense with Avahi and it works fine.

To me discord is just floating, not searchable via Google and you heavily depend on activity.

Just post the link of your problem

Discord has come a long way, not only are chats searchable if the server owner lest you view historys, but you can even have channels formatted as forums and support tickets. Even the chats can have threads. Its no longer exclusively linear.

I wish there was a discord, every other tech project I have worked on has one, whether official or community built. Get my questions answered in 10 minutes or less. Stuff stalls on here for months.

If it stalls here, why should they get answered in 10 mins on Discord??

It seems that people get notified in a more optimized way, as a discord server is basically a chat room. I personally dont know anyone that uses IRC anymore. Throwing out a question in a help chat on discord to 3000 people that are currently online, who are likely paying attention because they are likely members of many tech servers, just gets faster responses. Im not sure that I have encountered another program that is this opposed to that kind of community. Personally, I may be forced to switch to pfsense here soon because my inquiries stagnate here on the forum, and my Opnsense box hasnt operated correctly in months.

General Discussion / Issues with mDNS Repeater
June 30, 2023, 08:03:43 AM
Has anyone else run into issues with the mDNS Repeater plugin? Initially it worked fine for me, though now I see maybe 3-4 cast devices and the rest do not appear. Interestingly enough, the ones that do appear all chromecast videos, the rest of the devices that do not appear are google home and mini, as well as a google chromecast audio. I have tried several configurations on my managed switch for IGMP snooping, though Im not really sure what all of the settings mean. It seems odd that it worked with the default IGMP settings, and then stopped.

It appears to have been fixed. I think there was a static IP but not Static ARP

Interesting thing is, I dont even see an entry for inbound WAN traffic on that port, or any port I set for WoL. I know inbound on that ip (or url) works because other traffic comes through, but there is never a log entry when the magic packet is sent.

I will try that and let you know, but I will add that this was previously working with no changes to the offline system on a TP-link router. I don't really know if that gives and extra insight, as I am just learning all of this, but the setup has always had software and NIC WoL turned on, and was previously working with just a port forward rule in the old system. Currently I can use wake-on-lan monitor on the system while it is online and see that local magic packets from another machine on the same network make it to the machine, they just never make it through externally.

Im pretty new to opnsense and Im trying to set up teamviewer to WoL. Ive had this working in the past when I was on a tplink router, but now im running into some issues. I was able to test the magic packet and see that the PC is receiving it on LAN to LAN connections, but even with a port forwarding rule in opnsense, the packet never makes it to the PC. Is there something else that must be enabled or allowed in the firewall?
