General Discussion / Prioritize traffic by VLAN
« on: March 28, 2023, 02:13:16 pm »
Hi all,
I have OPNSense with 4 VLANs (Admin(192.168.1.0/24), Voip(10.1.5.0/24), Wireless(10.1.50.0/23) and CCTV(10.1.6.0/24)) + 1 WAN 1Gb/200Mb.
The problem is that i cant make shapper work. I am trying to reserve or prioritize traffic coming and going from VLAN Voip but i still get poor quality calls and sometime the call breaks.
My Sip Provider connects behind a VPN, so the service to prioritize should be VPN and not SIP, am i correct? But to be simple, i was thinking and prioritize all the VOIP VLAN.
I have read here and i have created 2 PIPES ( 1Gb + 200Mb) and 6 Queues ( High Priority Weight 100, Regular Priority 25 and Low Prority 10 for download and another equal to upload) and after that created 8 Rules for each VLAN Subnet.
Is this correct, is this the best method to get this?
thanks for your help.
