General Discussion / DNS to local address
« on: March 08, 2023, 06:13:30 pm »
For starters, I am relatively new to networking, so I'm hoping this should be a very simple problem.
My OPNsense dashboard is accessible on LAN @ 10.10.10.1, and my wireless AP settings at 10.10.10.2. While this isn't critical, I'd be a nice QoL if I could set "http://my-local-opnsense.net/" or something like that to take me to 10.10.10.1. (and, of course, I could set up more meaningful addresses in the future aside from "shortcuts" to the dashboards)
I'm trying to use a domain override in UnboundDNS via OPNsense, but can't get it working. Anyone know how to do it? I've tried it couple different ways, including host overrides, but no luck.
I've also tried things like this: https://forum.opnsense.org/index.php?topic=9245.0
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks,
-Zman
