Hi there,
I am trying to block two IPs from access my network/the internet at a certain time a day.

I have created an Alias that includes the two IPs 192.168.2.7-192.168.2.8
I also created a schedule for Mon-Sun 21:00 - 23.59 and 0:00-08:00

I then went into Firewall rules in my Lan section and created a block rule for inbound traffic from source (the Alias) and I selected the schedule.
I applied all the changes but the two devices still have network access during the period of time.
What am I missing?
Thanks

22.7 Legacy Series / problem with bridge in OPNSENSE
January 25, 2023, 09:26:03 PM
I have successfully established a bridge to create three LAN ports on my OPNsense router.
All devices that are directly connected via a ethernet connection are working fine but the two APs that I have in my house seem to loose internet connection constantly. All my mobile devices are in constant limbo switching between one Wifi SSID to another.

I followed this write-up to the T.

https://docs.opnsense.org/manual/how-tos/lan_bridge.html

Anyone of you have any idea why a ethernet connected desktop computer is having no issues but an Access Point losses internet connection.

I am currently running 22.7

Thanks

22.7 Legacy Series / Re: Unassigned Interface (solved)
January 17, 2023, 10:39:10 PM
Hi everyone,
My post didn't get any replies but I managed to fix the problem myself.

I wasn't able to assign two of my ethernet NIC ports to a new interface in the Assignment section, not because anything was broken but because those to ports were already assigned elsewhere.
I looked in to the Other Type section and saw that there was a LAGG created, that used those two ports. Since I am not using a LAGG on this router I just deleted it. That freed up the port and now they are available for assignment.
I thought I put his here in case anyone ever has the same issue and maybe this reply will help.

Greetings,
Heiko

22.7 Legacy Series / Unassigned Interface
January 17, 2023, 08:01:33 PM
Hey guys,
I am new to OPNsense.
I have searched this Forum and read every post remotely similar but nothing lead me to the solution.
I have spend multiple hours on google as well to see if I can find the fix for the problem but no joy.

I have been successfully running OPNSense on a fan-less router from Ali-express with Wireguard for about three month now. So far no problems, I am running it on a piece of hardware that has 4 NICs and I am currently only using 2 of those (IGC0 and IGC3). One is the WAN the other the LAN.
I was trying to establish a LAN Bridge but when I try to add an interface in Assignments non of those unused NICs are available in the drop down.
In Interfaces/ Overview the two unused NICS are showing as "Unassigned Interface IGC1 and IGC2". Both are listed in the Overview with MAC address but they are both showing as "Administrative disabled".
Since the hardware I am using  has a HDMI out I went into the terminal and configured those port as OPT1 and OPT2 but once I went back into the WebUI OPT1 and OPT2 are not showing in Assignments.
I am running the latest version 22.7.10_2-amd64 I did restarts. But still no solution.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Does this access point have a default gateway configured pointing to your OPNsense?

Hey PMHAUSEN,
You fixed it.
You asked about the default gateway in the Access Point. I checked this morning. The default gateway was set to 0.0.0.0.
I changed it to the IP of the gateway and now I can access it via Wireguard.
Thanks again.
Problem solved!

I think it does but so does my NAS.
I can access everything from a Wireguard client except this AP.

Hi there,
Thanks for having me.
I am a total noob to Opnsense and Wireguard, but i have successfully managed to setup an Opnsense router for my LAN and I established a Wireguard tunnel from an android client to my LAN.
I can access my Nas that is part of the local area network and i can even access the Opnsense router via the wireguard tunnel.
For some reason I cannot access one specific IP address in this Lan which happens to be the WebUI of my access point in the house. (192.168.1.254 in case that matters)
I have tried to ping that IP from the android device and i get a response immediately.
Does anyone have any idea why I can easily access all devices within that Subnet but i can access that AP?
Thanks in advance,
Heiko
