I decided to run netbootxyz directly on OPNSense but i have some issues with figuring out how to use custom menus which are saved on my tftp's server instead of netbootxyz using the ones hosted on github. I created boot.cfg and windows.ipxe files inside /usr/local/tftp but when network booting its using the default ones and not the ones i modified locally on my machine. Do you guys have any tips to help me out

Hi, i cant recall now. I ended up using AdGuard Home for dns blocking, together with Unbound and DNSCrypt-Proxy.

23.7 Legacy Series / Help with DNSBL on Unbound
August 14, 2023, 11:11:00 PM
Hello, i've been trying to figure out how to use hagezi's dns blocklists with DNSBL on Unbound but i have this problem.

The lists that don't include domains and subdomains but contain only wildcard domains wouldnt be treated as such and only block exact matches if i use to load they remotely by using the URLs . If i put the where it says Wildcard Domains it works but there i need to put each domain individually and i wont have that auto update of the lists. Is there any other way around this ?

Nvm i figured it out..

Additional http location to download blacklists from, only plain text files containing a list of fqdn's (e.g. my.evil.domain.com) are supported.

Hello people, i need some advice how to enable downloaded dns blocklists on Unbound and use them. I'm trying to use multiple blocklists from the hagezi github and using the links provided specially for use in Unbound. In the logs i see that the domain names for the download links are resolved but it would not download them ? Im attaching a screenshot with the logs.

I think you need Allow DNS server list to be overridden by DHCP/PPP on WAN to be disabled, else you are using the dns server provided by DHCP on your WAN port.

General Discussion / Can't download torrents
August 13, 2022, 08:55:19 AM
Hello, i've deployed a device with OPNSense installed on it a few days ago and im still in the process of learning about all the settings and such and lots of new information for me about networking. One issue im having at hand tho is that im not able to start downloading torrents, neither on my PC or my media server. Do i need to port forward qbittorrent so it can access the internet or am i missing something else ? Thanks in advance .
