FIGURED IT OUT

added a Firewall rule in my Wire Guard interface

#2
Got it sorted somewhat.
Added a rule to my Wireguard interface that uses the NORDVPN Gateway.

the weird thing is that it only works if I tick Quick on the rule even if I have it at the top of the rule set.

Hi all.

not sure if anyone can help me here. i have tried to set up a NAT outbound using the interface as NORDVPN and cannot seem to get it to work.

The IP my wireguard remote client is seeing is my public ip address and not my Nord Vpn 116 address.

cheers in advance.

not sure if you sorted this.....

I had the same issue with the service not starting on my custom built OPN SENSE routing hardware.

I found the following solution.
1. Uninstalled the WIRE GUARD plugin.

when I tried to reinstall it, it forced a bull multiple update of everything ... took about 30 minutes to complete  the multiple update or kernal and everything.
but then reinstalled the plug in and now it works.

This may or may not be your solution, but it worked for me and all is up and running again.
Cheers

hi Thanks for that.

Tried to set up a NAT rule but it would not work. Wireguard is still finding my WAN as outbound natural interface.

My Other Vlans use NORD VPN interface and applicable 116 address out. :(

not sure what to do to fix it.
but thanks for your tips.

Hi all,

Again hope you can assist here and I hope it is a box i have not ticked or at least there is a solution or 2.

I have a WAN connection to my ISP and I also have a NORD VPN interface that I have up and running that all of my VLANS connect through and it works fine. however, Some sites do not like Nord Address pools like NVIDEA for example for downloading drivers etc.
the only way I can get it to download the drivers is to disable the NORD VPN interface and then reboot the router and it picks up that the WAN interface is now running and everything can conect again to the OPEN internet with my wan IP address on the WAn interface.
The Issue is that when I try to re-enable the NORD VPN interface... it changes name and will not take priority to connect through it.

Even if I reboot the router it will still not connect. I have tried Stopping and re running the service and the client also but nothing seeems to work. The only way I have got it to work is to upload my backup of the running configuration that worked.

Hope someone with some brains can help me out.
Cheers

Hi All. Hope you can help me out.
I have set up my wire-guard and can connect in remotely to my network and can browse the internet while connected.
However when I do What is my IP in my phone browser when connected remotely. It comes up with my WAN DHCP address.

Is there any way I can configure my OPN SENSE router to do 2 things...
1. priority #1 out to the internet VIA my NORD vpn CONFIGURED INTERFACE (THAT ALL RUNS FINE AND I CAN BROWSE INTERNET ETC WITH THE NORD 116 ADDRESS POOL.

2. if the nord interface is state DOWN ... can I then route it out of my main internet WAN interface?

I know I have probably not explained myself well at all.... but hope you legends can help.
Cheers
