I know from my experience that if the clock drift is too far out (say >5 minutes) the system will not sync.  In that instance you will need to manually set the time; then allow the NTP system to keep itself in-sync with the Stratum server(s) of choice.

Hello,
I have a question regarding the FreeBSD OS as used in OPNSense.

OPNSense 24.7 released with FreeBSD 14.1.  If I read the FreeBSD website correctly, this version is EoL when version 14.2 + 3 months has been reached (expected).

https://www.freebsd.org/security/

Does OPNSense have an update path for implementing the minor release builds of FreeBSD as the monthly update builds of OPNSense are released?  Before the next major OPNSense release (25.1)

I've been using OPNSense for a few years now, but the whole 13.2 going EoL before 24.7 was released got me thinking about this.

My apologies if this question has been asked & answered already.  I was unable to find a recent post or such on the topic.

Thank you.
