23.1 Legacy Series / Re: Is this normal? Lan up/down
March 11, 2023, 12:20:23 PM
Got this working today, found this handy guide

https://www.joe0.com/2019/11/16/converting-single-nic-mini-pc-into-pfsense-router-firewall-by-using-virtual-lan-configuration-on-a-managed-switch/

May be of use to others one day, thanks for VLAN tip pmhausen  :)

21.7 Legacy Series / Re: Help with firewall rules

Yes port forwarding is in place for 44158 under Firewall: NAT: Port Forward, port is confirmed as open, it's just odd how sometime its allowed and other time blocked.

21.7 Legacy Series / Help with firewall rules
May 10, 2022, 08:57:28 PM
I need to pass port 44158 to 192.168.0.126, so I set up a rule under, Firewall: Rules: WAN
Making sure it is at the top of the list above GeoIP

Now some connections are passed as below

And some are blocked by GeoIP as below

Any ideas what I have done wrong?

Thank all

Think I figured it out Firewall: Rules: WAN as below.
Although I couldn't specify a port so I left it as *

EDIT: no that does not work, I need to add the port range but the option is shaded out ?

EDIT2: got it, changed protocol TCP/UDP  ;D

EDIT3: oh and moved the rule above GeoIP rule  ;)

Title says it all really, just cant figure it out, I use GeoIP blocking to block all countries except my own, works great however I now need to allow all countries to access 192.168.0.126 on port 12345.
any ideas?
Thanks all

Good luck! ;-) There are driver changes in freebsd 13 and opnsense 22.1, without debugging nothing will change, most likely...

No one told me I had to debug or even how, looking around here I'm far from the only one with problems, I've seen a few post where people are reverting to 21.7
#11
No I didn't, but the reinstall of 21.7 has fixed it, I'll stay there for a few months until 22.1 is more stable ;)

And my internet is back to full speed 53 Mbps now, was around 46 on v22.1, wasn't sure if it was related but.....

I'll let you know in 24 hours, just reinstalled v21.7.8  ;)

Well, this only happens when I am downloading over bittorrent it seems, any thoughts as to why?

Thanks all
