I did upgrade this v24.7.10_2 version and it looked that everything works. yesterday I upgraded my proxmox and rebooted all vms also.
after that nothing did work.
reason opnsenses unbound wont even start, also ntp is broken and doesnt start..
So I disabled unbound dns and enabled Dnsmasq DNS now everything works again.
Also NTP I replaced by installing chrony plugin to opnsense.

I'll try that if mibox or sony disappears. But now those have been found all the time.
I hqve couple chromecast audios but I will leave those in LAN vlan for now.

Little update. I got some strange problems with precense detection in home assistant so I removed igmp proxy upstream. And now chromecasting still works with Sony android tv.
So udp broadcast relay is enough with 5353 224.0.0.1 multicast address is enough, but its slow to find Sony.
And there is no firewall rules with it. My wifi APs are ubiquiti models and in controller there is igmp snooping enabled in all VLANs.
It didnt help with home assistant but thats another story.

Hi, I got this work with one chromecast (xiaomi mibox s). however sometimes it disappears. And it did take sometime to get it appear to android tablet..
My phones and tablets are in LAN vlan and try to put chromecast devices to IoT vlan.
I did add Sony android tv to same vlan as mibox, but it doesnt work even if I waited over night.
Should I make firewall rule for port 5353, and to point where and to which side?
My LAN is allowed to pass all vlans, but IOT is only allowed to internet and 53 to my pihole which is in LAN.

Edit: strange I installed igmp proxy plugin to opnsense and upstream to IOT vlan, sony tvbs chromecast is also working now from iot vlan! Even stranger that google chromecast troublehshooter advice to disable igmp proxy. So igmp proxy for sony tv(android 8) and broadcast relay for mi box (android 9).
