The OPNsense backup to an Nextcloud instance does not work via the the standard credentials. You need to generate an single TOTP, especially if you are using 2FA for login.
In Nextcloud go to the Personal Settings -> Security -> all (!) the way down to "Create new app password", enter any App name you like and create the new app access. Use the shown credentials for the section in OPNSense.
That solved it for me.
