Hello Guys,
I know how busy you all are doing things for those that can be done something about. You all have my respect for that. Congratulations for all your hard work! You all deserve great commendation.
Since I posted this topic, I have made progress in getting all the ingredients I need to configure my OPNsense PC firewall. I was able to make PIA VPN connect via OPENvpn. Also, I have followed, like a detective would follow a murder case, a link from another great guy on this forum https://forum.opnsense.org/index.php?topic=4979.msg19771#msg19771 which I thought would correct the problem. But as it turns out, I stumbled upon a bug that was filed by another valiant fighter at this forum. After seeing that, I realized, I might be hoping for a solution that is not yet prime at the moment.
My needs are quite simple. Setup a VPN and use that as a gateway for all our internet needs. Just one gateway.. via PIA VPN access. Also, I need to setup all the rules I need so I can filter the traffic and catch , and hopefully, eliminate or identify at least the culprit in hacking my personal laptop. It was working great (my previous installation of OPNsense), until something started to freeze it. So I began isolating and the use of VPN is thus required.
Sad to say, I failed to make this work. But my needs continue. And there are other concerns and issues that need time as well. No matter how much I love OPNsense, I believe I have to move on now. I have already spent more than two years (close to three) trying solutions posted here and elsewhere just to make it work flawlessly, to no avail. I was already tempted to purchase a paid support. But it cost too much, and I'm not even a business user. I wish there's a "techie" version of the paid support, something freelancers like me could easily afford.
Anyway, thank you guys. I'll be back and see if this is something that will be resolved in the near future. But for now, I have to park this one at the moment. Thank you for all those tireless individuals that continue making OPNsense work. You guys are more than appreciated!
Thank You!
