General Discussion / PEAP authentication over wired networks for WAN
« on: November 09, 2018, 05:39:36 pm »
Hi,
I have a rather peculiar problem. I have an OPNsense firewall which isolates a little network connected to a wider enterprise one. The WAN interface is thus is connected to an infrastructure providing DHCP service but which also requires wired connections authentication by the PEAP / MSCHAP-v2 protocol (no server certificate involved, only user/password based authentication) in order to allow for Internet access.
The problem is that I don't know how to configure this for OPNsense wired WAN interface. I get an IP address from DHCP but without authentication no Internet access. On the same network, I can connect with Windows 7 SP1 by using the Wired Authentication service and configuring parameters in the corresponding Local Area Connection xxx screen.
Can you please help me solve this problem ?
