Hi everybody,

I already searched the forum but didn't find any info:

I have a IPSec-Tunnel which works properly but behaves wrong in my opinion.
I have an "IPSec" interface (seems to be a general one) and one interface for every tunnel, named e.g. "Azure".
Now when I want to allow traffic from the remote network, it's useless to configure it under the tunnels name (e.g. Azure) but it needs to be configured under the general IPSec-Interface.
Did I configure it wrong? Because usually I'd like to configure rules seperated by the tunnel interface.

Thanks in advance,

Jan

19.1 Legacy Series / Routed IPSec to Azure
December 26, 2019, 07:38:30 PM
Hi everybody and mery christmas!!

I'm trying to connect our opnsense with azure - Phase 1 is no problem and works just fine, the problem is I can't choose "Mode: route-based" in phase 2, I only have the options "Tunnel IPv4", "Tunnel IPv6" and "Transport". As I can't use "routed", there is no interface like "IPSECxxxxx" coming up and I cant define it as gateway. I'm running version 19.1.1 .
Any help would be very much appreciated.

Regards,

Hey you two,

thanks a lot for your reply, are there any documentations on updates in general?
When using the fresh-install approach, is there anything to take care of? Probably same interface-config?

Cheers,

Hey Franco,

thanks a lot for your reply, so I simply need to use the webinterface for upgrading and everything should work just like before?

17.1 Legacy Series / Upgrade to up-to-date version

Hello there,

right now, we are running the rather old version

OPNsense 17.1-amd64
FreeBSD 11.0-RELEASE-p7
OpenSSL 1.0.2k 26 Jan 2017

and would like to upgrade, are there any known problems to be expected and how do I upgrade? Simply through the GUI? Which version would you recommend? 17.7.12 ?

Best regards,

Hello,
can anybody please tell me if the DHCP-Server used IP Address Conflict detection? Meaning if e.g. User PC1 assigned himself manually an IP from the DHCP Range and PC2 requests an IP from the DHCP and the one from PC1 would be the next to be offered - does the DHCP-Service make a ping to check if it might be in use although it should be free or does he simply assign it and create a duplicate IP?

Thanks in advance,

17.1 Legacy Series / How to add external IPs
March 01, 2017, 01:12:50 PM
Hello everybody,
as I'm quite new to this amazing Firewall, could anybody please tell me if it was possible, to add multiple IPs to a WAN-Connection? I have to dial in via PPPOE and have 4 other IP Addresses added to the WAN which are not in the same subnet as the WAN IP.

Hope somebody can help.

Best wishes,

Hello,
I'm quite new to OpnSense and would just like to know, if the WAN Interface had any special characteristic or if it was an interface just like any other interfaces as well? Right now we have 3 local interfaces on the virtualk OpnSense machine and use it as Firewall/Router but soon we would like to route or WAN-Traffic through the firewall, can I simply use a normal LAN-Interface?

Thanks a lot in advance,
