Hi Together,

i was migrating from ISC to KEA everything works fine except one thing.
I have Virtual IPs to enable HA Proxy to hide my internal IPs and Ports of some docker hosted services and make them available over a nice hostname.
With ISC i had to add the VirtualIPs in ISC with a empty MAC and the hostname i want to use.

With Kea for my it is not possible to add my VirtualIPs.
He wants to have a MAC when i will enter some dummy Mag the Hostname is not resolved from DNS.

How can i make that work again?

I switched today to the Kea DHCP

Could the issue be that there are some VLANs?
PC1 and PC2 are in different VLANs

=> My OPNsense has three interfaces
1. connected to wan (pppoe)
2. connected to a NAS
3. connected to a switch - on the switch are all devices connected inclusive the wlan access points.

when wan goes down i cant reach pc1 over lan from pc2
and when wan comes back it need about 2 min that dns will start to work again

I have the same behavior - with no internet i can't reach any other device internally.
But from the device i can reach opnsense.
what should i monitor to figure out what is the problem?

kann mir jemand helfen und sagen wie ich über Monit meine WAN IP-Adresse (dynamisch) Monitore? Also das ich bei jedem Wechsel eine Email bekomme am besten noch mit der IP Adresse?

i setup my opnsense complete new.
Step by Step and i always verify after a step if pppoe is working.

After i setup a OpenVPN server on the WAN interface i got this issue with pppoe.
When i delete the OpenVPN server pppoe works normal.

Somebody and idea what is wrong with pppoe and OpenVPN?

Ich habe nun neu opnsense eingerichtet.
Schritt für Schritt und immer wieder geschaut ob pppoe geht oder nicht.

Der Moment ab wann PPPOE nicht mehr geht bzw. dieses verhalten aufweißt ist wenn eine OpenVPN Verbindung eingerichtet wird auf dem WAN Interface.

The only case when PPPOE is stable is after a Reboot. Currently i rebooting the Box two times per day via a cron job. But i diden't set a mac address. So the Mac address is empty.

One colleague from germany has also the same issue. after a down from the WAN interface the PPPOE Connection get etablished and then after some time 1-8 minutes we will have a reconnect and that in a loop :(.
The only thing what will help is a reboot.

How can i do some tracing? Witch logs do you need to get the details of the issue?#

Niemand eine Idee?

Mein Workarround ist momentan die Box per cron alle 12 stunden neu zu starten.
Der periodic interface reset auf dem wan interface führt übrigens zu dem selben verhalten. Also sobald ich wan down und up mache habe ich eine endlos schleife mit verbunden - trennen - verbinden ....

Gibt es so was wie ein Trace Möglichkeit?
Soll ich mal ins Englische Forum posten?

Wäre für jede Hilfe dankbar.

Kann das am IPv6 liegen?

Nach dieser Zeile fängt die Box wieder an sich neu zu verbinden.
Allerdings in meiner WAN Konfiguration steht bei IPv4 => PPPoE und bei IPv6 => None

Jemand eine Idee? Ist das ein Bug?

Ich hab auch das Problem das nach der 24 Stunden Trennung ich keine stabile Verbindung bekomme.
Also dann wird aufgebaut und nach 1-2 Minuten ein reconnect gemacht.
Bei mir taucht im log dann zum Zeitpunkt des reconnects das auf:

ich bin der neue :)
ich habe als Hoster df.eu - allerdings habe ich die selbe Symptomatik.

Wenn ich ohne SSL also Port 25 die Notification einrichte funktionierit alles wunderbar.
Sobald aber der hacken auf Enable SMTP over SSL/TLS gesetzt und der Port auf 465 geändert wird bekomme ich auch "Error: could not connect to the host "134.119.18.24": ??" egal ob über den DNS oder die IP.

Kann es sein dass, das opnsense nicht das Zertifikat validieren kann?

Muss ich das Zertifikat irgendwie importieren?
