Would love to see an option in the GUI to enable secure_mode (even though it doesn't make UPnP secure). :)

Awesome! Thanks! It works so no worries. :)

Yep, I am aware of the issues and concerns with UPnP. While I would never recommend running UPnP in any kind of corp / production environment for now I am comfortable with running it on this particular network and usage case. I just wanted to raise the bug regarding the GUI for it.

A hypervisor would be a great idea but I already have a server behind it doing that and don't really have a use for another. Perhaps I will play around with the IPS when it releases and see if I can break 2% CPU used. ;)

It's a darn good piece of hardware though.

15.7 Legacy Series / [SOLVED] UPnP GUI bug?
December 06, 2015, 08:24:41 PM
Hey,

First off, thanks for all the work on OPNsense. For the last couple of years I have been using pfSense, which I also like a lot, choice is good. :) I have been playing with it for @48 hours now and it's working quite well. It was absolutely a smooth install on my Supermicro 5018A-FTN4 (which is way overkill for a home network... but hey it's fun). That same hardware gave me a bit of trouble when I first installed pfSense on it (TRIM support, MBUF etc) but OPNsense had no issues. In fairness I doubt a recent fresh install of pfSense would either.

One potential bug I have noticed is that in the GUI for UPnP under "Services: Universal Plug and Play: Settings", even after I check "Enable UPnP & NAT-PMP" and "Allow UPnP Port Mapping", save etc the service starts but the GUI doesn't represent the checks in the boxes.

I am using the latest stable version of Chrome (Version 47.0.2526.73 (64-bit)) and OPNsense (OPNsense 15.7.21-amd64 FreeBSD 10.1-RELEASE-p24 OpenSSL 1.0.2d 9 Jul 2015)). My install path was from the latest VGA image of .18 an then used the standard firmware upgrade process.

If there is a better place for me to submit bugs I am happy to do so.

Thanks again for the great software!
