I use Ventoy for installing software from an .iso image, take a look at their website: https://www.ventoy.net/ - I've never had a problem with it.

I've just applied the patch and rebooted without problems.

The only thing that's happened is my download speed (using speedtest)  has almost disappeared - this is the result after applying the patch: https://www.speedtest.net/result/16604096563 - although this is typical of the five results today and using various download servers for the test.

I've recently upgraded my service to 900Mbbs, I was on the 500Mbps and always had a download speed was roughly 460 Mbps - this doesn't want to go any faster.  I'll have to contact Zen again to see what's happening.

I don't know why you have problems with Ventoy, it's worked fine for me over the past few years. I've used it for physical hardware and for VMs on VMware.

The answer to your question is in the post above yours. ;)

Did you consider doing a search first? I've just done one and the following link shows the results:

https://www.startpage.com/do/dsearch?query=proxmox+opnsense+vm+keeps+stopping&language=english&cat=web&pl=ext-ff&extVersion=1.1.7

Do any of those solve your problem?

It's always best to do an internet search for the solution to questions such as yours and there's always the OPNsense documentation.

Take a look at this article: https://homenetworkguy.com/how-to/configure-ipv6-opnsense-with-isp-such-as-comcast-xfinity/

An internet search for the following terms will get you all the information you need: "how to" opnsense ipv6

What errors are you seeing when you try the update? Have you also tried changing the mirror on System: Firmware/Settings page - see if that makes any difference?

Do you get any valid response if you 'ping host' from the OPNsense konsole?

Do the instructions in the following article solve your problem?

A dashboard widget or even better a countdown in the top bar of the UI would be great.
I'd second that suggestion. :)

I don't know why you couldn't get an answer from the search gives this article:

https://www.allthingstech.ch/using-opnsense-and-ip-blocklists-to-block-malicious-traffic

That should tell you everything you need to get a working blocklist, why does that not work for you? There are also many other choices in that list, did you look at them?

Thanks Bill.  I have spent a fair while searching, found a lot of babble but not a clear and concise answer which I was hoping to find here.

Good to see that last century RTFM answers are still allowed.  Or not good.
I don't take kindly to smart-ass replies like that.

I'm not a mind reader and you gave no indication that you'd searched nor what you tried from any of the articles on-line - if the online articles are not sufficient then you'd need to give a more detailed description of what exactly you want and what you've already tried and why they don't work.

It's always a good idea to first do an internet search to see if there's any "how to" articles. Enter the following into a browser search:

opnsense ip blocklists

You'll find plenty to keep you busy. ;)
