Inline IPS cabling/connexion
« on: July 22, 2016, 08:57:30 pm »
Hi all, new user of the product here. I was looking in the documentation on HOW to, if possible to connect the IPS inline.

I bought a 4 interface box for this i want to to use a port pair to be an inline IPS. Kinda of like this :

 internet  --------- porta ---- IPS engine ----- portb ----- port 1 ---- Firewall engine ----- inside network.

On commercial IPS offering, port a and port b would not have an IP or MAC and be consider like " bump in the wire".

It this kind of setup is possible with OPNsense ?

thanks
