[SOLVED] unbound issue
«
on:

Hi,
not sure in which categorie I should post this one but I have found that unbound is generating an error every time I restart it :
warning: too many file descriptors requested. The builtinmini-event cannot handle more than 1024. Config for less fds or compile with libevent.
It's not a blocking issue as it's been working fine at the moment.

This seems to be on FreeBSD 10.2 as well:
https://unbound.net/pipermail/unbound-users/2008-August/000166.html
I'm opening a ticket, need to decide which direction to go (use unbound from ports with libevent or modify source tree like the email suggests).
Thanks

That mail is from 2008. Does this mean it's a 7 year old issue?

Whoops, I misread 1.0.2, thanks for pointing that out. Looks like it is still there for one reason or another. It's a start.

Hi, sorry it seems to be a duplicate from a report in the deutsch section, and there's a github ticket also:
https://github.com/opnsense/core/issues/244
I'm not sure which unbound is used in opnsense but in the freebsd handbook 28.7.2, they do not recommend using the base unbound and recommend usage of unbound from the port collection. Not sure if this the issue is related here.

Thanks for diggin in, I think going with ports unbound is fine. I'll try to squeeze that into one of the next releases.

15.7.10 test package will have unbound from ports as opposed to base. Looking for feedback as soon as 15.7.10 is out early next week.

Still the same unfortunately.

Okay, can easily switch to libevent now anyway. I'll provide a test package in a bit.

We're pusing 15.7.11 a lot faster than expected (namely: tomorrow), unbound will be updated to use LIBEVENT as well. Almost there now.
