Virtual IP / IP Alias netmask

This may be a trivial question:
Considering my LAN nic with ip 192.168.1.1/24, I create a new virtual ip of type (Mode 'IP Alias') 192.168.2.1.
Shall I set 24 or 32 as netmask?

You shall set whatever netmask is appropriate in that particular configuration.
It is not related to the first.
