Issue IMHO is that pfSense is nothing more than a name and logo.
All the code and contributions are open source and they want to change that so they can make money of other peoples work and contributions.
I dont like it and thats why I am here.
I have been using M0n0wall and pfSense for many years.
We need some things to be done to opnsense but its on its way and moving forward. There is a good atmosphere in here and very kind replies from the admins.
I like that.

FWIW, it's gotten a lot better. We've been on our road, introduced unique changes that we do like stick to because we believe they allow us to move forward further and in turn make OPNsense better each step of the way. It's all about choice, even to the core of the whole OpenSSL vs. LibreSSL as well as *sense vs. m0n0wall division. The choice is up to you. The people that like our project matter to us. They help (and have helped) make this a project to be worth to consider. It's their project now as well.
Peace out.

im also a former advanced pfsense user. used pfsense since BEFORE 1.0 came out all the way thru 2.2 . and m0n0wall for a while before that.
ever since the licensing issues last year with pfsense , ive been looking to jump ship but i didnt want to deal with
building my own distro. . the attitude of CMB and others is destroying there own name. and then the ESF (electric sheep fencing) really??? ive also been recommending them for years. No longer. i will be pointing them here.
cant wait to see what the future holds for opnsense. Love what i see so far. keep up the awesome work.
