Firewall rules [new] missing

While Opnsense is running fine as my home firewall and I only need to regularly update it, this time I thought it might be a good time to use the migration assistant to migrate to the new rules engine. I'm running version OPNsense 26.7.4_1-amd64 and did find the migration assistent. After exporting the rules to csv, I need to import them in the new rules engine. Which I should find at firewall => rules [new]. Unfortunately.. I can't find that menu item. Anyone who could help this beginner?

It's at the bottom at the right and it's an icon with a small arrow in it I believe ?!

Also make sure the theme you are using isn't bugged and not showing it for whatever reason !!
Or your browser...

/EDIT :
Oh wow... I totally misunderstood the question... LOL!

Anyway...

The button is the same in both old and new AFAIK so see below and Good Luck! :)

When the new system was still new (in 26.1) it was named accordingly. Now (26.7) it's the default and named "Rules". The old UI is now named "Rules legacy" if you have the plugin installed.

Isn't all of this obvious? Do you expect the rules UI to be named "new" for eternity? Someone starting with OPNsense now will never know there once was a different one.

Thanks both for the replies!

Patrick, if I understand correctly the version I'm currently running by default only shows the new rules and during an upgrade the rules already have been migrated automatically?

It totally makes sense to me that the new Rules page is now called 'Rules' and the legacy version is available through a plugin for users who prefer this.

However, what doesn't make sense to me is that I still see 'Migration assistant'; will that be removed soon in an update?

No, there is no automatic migration of the old rules. The new rules UI will show those old rules IIRC, but you can't edit them there. So you will need to go through the migration steps for your rules manually. IIRC the migration assistant "disappears", once everything is migrated.

Ah wow, this was a bit confusing to me, but I managed it :-)

Imported the exported csv, which 'doubled' the amount of rules. Then back to the migration assistant and exected the final step to remove the old rules. Now it works and makes sense.
