Migration Assistant and legacy firewall rules

Hi,

I noticed that the latest version of OPNsense introduced a new system on how firewall rules are being displayed. The changelog specified that Migration Assistant should be used but all my current rules in place continue to work so why should I use Migration Assistant? Would my legacy rules stop working at some point so it's recommended to migrate them? I also need to install the latest version of OPNsense on a new device and import my config, would my legacy firewall rules also work in this case?

They will work but you cannot edit them, unless you use the legacy rules plugin. Eventually in some future version that plugin will go away. So why not migrate now? The new system is much better with all rules in a single table and selectable views.
