pppd log file/uptime

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out how many reconnects of the WAN interface --- which is a pppoe interface --- are occurring and have occurred over like the last week.

Unfortunately, that information is nowhere to be found :((  There's no log file in the GUI, and I can't even find any useful information to answer my question when logging in via ssh and looking at /var/log.

mpd5 should be logging to syslog with identifier "ppp", and the result should end up under /var/log/system/... It's generally quiet except during connect...

The oldest entry is from the 18th.  That is insufficient.

I need to see for at least for a whole week how many connection attempts have been made, better for half a year and longer.
