25.1.5_5 shaper FQ_CoDel can no longer reach line speed for downstream

I am using the same configuration I had set up for 25.1.4 and 24.x before that. As of 25.1.5_5 update this morning, I can only reach approximately 50% of my line speed with the downstream set to nearly my gigabit downstream speed.

My device is a mini PC with a N5105 CPU and four dedicated Intel 2.5G ports.

Is FQ_CoDel definitely the issue? Have you monitored CPU usage during the speed drop? It might also be DNS slowness or the upstream router needing a reboot or something.
In theory there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice there is.

CPU usage rises to approximately 44% of a core for the ntopng process during the speed test, however no kernel threads register more than about 11-12% in the status line.

Speed rises to my line speed if I disable the pipes, queues, or rules. What changed about FQ_CoDel between 25.1.4 and 25.1.5, beside the new configuration system?

Hej,
same here.

After update to 25.1.5 my speed dropped and the latency rate increased dramatically.
The speed increased for me too, after I disabled the pipes, queues and rules.

It looks like there is a general improvement that makes FQ_CoDel obsolete for "our two cases".

The traffic shaping feature is working properly for me. I'm using the FQ-CoDeL scheduler. No loss of speed or higher latency. You might need to check your configuration or contact your ISP.

No. The point is, that since the update I have a stable and fast internet connection and only if I DEACTIVATE the FQ-CoDeL scheduler.

In this respect, I'm happy that I can now manage my OPNsense without the tweak - but it would be good to know what has been changed.

I was experiencing the same issue. Problem cleared with a router reboot. YMMV
