Hi all.  First post so please be gentle.

I am looking to set up a firewall/monitoring on a older DELL Optiplex 980.
I don't want to have a monitor etc connected - but to chat with it using either Xterm or SSH.
I am also hoping to create a DMZ where I can run an Apache Web server that is isolated from the main network.

Can this be done with OPNsense.. and if so what version should I download.

Many many thanks for any advice.
Marc

Yes and as always the latest version.

S.
Networking is love. You may hate it, but in the end, you always come back to it.

Not sure what you mean by "Xterm or SSH"? xterm is a rather archaic terminal emulator. SSH is a remote login protocol. You'd typically use an SSH client *in* a terminal emulator, so it's not an "or". Anyway, OPNsense management is browser-based. There is an SSH interface too, with a menu to perform some low-level functions, including running a shell, but you'd typically only use SSH when something has gone wrong.
