To buy or not - QOTOM Fanless Home Serve Router Processor Atom C3758R

Currently running OPNSense on a I7-12650H mini pc. I use a lot of VPN both Wireguard and OpenVPN. I have an opportunity to get a C3758R Qotom system and I'm also upgrading from Centurylink 1 GB service to Google 2/5/8 service. I know the C3758R has QAT 1.7 that supports OpenVPN but not Wireguard.

Is it worth the change to the Qotom system to get the QAT tech? Will OpenVPN with QAT beat Wireguard without QAT?

Weeeelll... going from a 6P (4.7GHz) + 4E (3.5GHz) Alder Lake to an 8-core (2.4GHz) Denverton (Silvermont) Atom is a huge downgrade in general CPU - your four E cores would likely beat the Atom by themselves. You gain (the possibility of) ECC RAM and QAT. If you can spare the dough just to try it, what the hey, but it's a reach. Heh - is the Atom's QAT crippleware, or is it 100% available?

@jde1000 , I got the Qotom Denverton Q20300G9-S10 Atom C3808 to run my OpnSense and some firewall apps like Traefik and Authentik.

I am curious how to test out if the QAT acceleration is working.

Do you know any benchmarks that can be run to see the on/off numbers?

I am interested in the Qotom Q20331G9-S10 or Q20331G9-1U with C3758R. But so far I cannot find an OK offer in Europe. The Amazon and Aliexpress vendors currently are not shipping to Europe, or at least to my country.

I think I over-purchased.  Two scenarios...  Bare Metak and PRoxMox.

I had/have OpnSense running fine on bare metal.  I have QAT enabled but really don't have a good way of knowing if it is working or not.
Had and want to go back to ProxMox after I try to confirm QAT so that I can have a before/after test for ProxMox.  When I had it on ProxMox prior there was zero problems with a handful of VMs for Traefik/Authentik.

Have you seen the Teklager TLSense C3758R which appears to be a rebadged Qotom Q20331G9-S10?
