HA Failover for WAN assuming DHCP lease and MAC address
« on: January 24, 2017, 05:28:06 am »
I'm sure this isn't possible, but thought I'd ask anyway just in case.... I have a cable modem, and my ISP hands out a DHCP address.  My cable modem requires a hard reset if the MAC address changes.

Is it possible to setup OPNSense failover in such a way that if the primary OPNSense server fails, the backup can assume the MAC address of the primary, as well as the DHCP lease (or force a lease renewal on failover) from my ISP?
