So many devices!

I was getting close to deploying my OPNsense & Zenarmor combination as a transparent bridge, but then it started to add a crazy amount of devices. Many of them it seems are not devices, but just IP addresses of sites i've been visiting and testing.

Any idea what's going on? I am going to use the Home licenses and it has a limit of 100. Right now, with minimal testing, it's already hitting 101.

Meaning: maximally 100 devices active at the same time. If some devices go offline, they don't count for that limit.

And IMHO, it is supposed to protect the LAN, not the WAN, so those public IPs should not be there.

Hi,

Is vtnet1 inner interface of bridge or?

Oh man, sorry. I got the cables mixed up and connected LAN to WAN!

Hi,

No worries. Please don't hesitate to contact the support team for any further assistance.

I'm also evaluating for a possible home license and in the same situation.

So what counts is what shows as online and I would be okay even with new devices showing as 121?

At a certain point, mine showed over 600 devices, but since only 20-30 devices were online, it didn't stop Zenarmor from working.

The device DB is just a list of devices found & identified on the LAN network.

The way how the license per device works is, that lets say if you have license for 100 devices it will provide "protection" only for 100 active devices. It shouldn't matter how many devices are found, from perspective of the license it matters how many devices are online and if its within the size of the license.

As long you don't have above 100 devices active at the same time for a 100 device license there is no problem.

Networking is love. You may hate it, but in the end, you always come back to it.
