Hi.
I hope someone can help. I keen to upgrade my hardware and the dec 2752 would fit my requirements I think but if your not using ids would the unit give be able to use the full speed of an 8gb/8gb connection. I have a 10gb lan and some 10gb devices already. Any feedback on this unit appreciated.
Thanks

You should probably send an inquiry to the manufacturer?

The DEC2752 is rated for 10G throughput.

But contact their sales, they will tell you better what to expect if you define your requirements.

If you plan on using Zenarmor, I'd double the ram. My current firewall started with 8gb and I was seeing 80 to 90 percent in use after installing Zenarmor and configuring a few things. With 16gb I now see around 50%. Yes I know, ram unused is ram wasted, but I like a little overhead considering the $30-$45 I think it cost me to upgrade from dual 4gb to dual 8gb.
Just my two cents on the hardware. Otherwise, I do wish they were a little more transparent about which processor is in each of these platforms, sometimes it's nice to compare. I will say that for my needs, the AMD V1756B that I currently have online is working just fine, no complaints about running an AMD processor.
