Wireguard selective routing to external VPN stopped working

Connecting OPNsense to a VPN endpoint appears to have quit working in for me on 23.7.6.
When creating the interface I am no longer allowed to assign a static IP. I get the error "Cannot assign an IP configuration type to a tunnel interface"' Wireguard appears to be running but the gateway is down. This configuration worked up until this version and no other configuration changes were made.

Check https://homenetworkguy.com/how-to/configure-wireguard-opnsense/ for a (working) way to set this up without interface IP addresses. (The IP address is taken directly from the wireguard portion of the setup)

If going from the os-wireguard-go to the os-wireguard plugin (like me), the config of the first is still there after uninstalling the first and installer the latter.
