ntopng plugin - how to configure interfaces?

Running latest 23.7.4 as virtualized host under Proxmox (virtio & linux bridges) - all is working fine for some time except the following:

I installed the ntopng plugin and it runs - but I can't seem to perform a network discovery (showing no results) and I can't seem to configure the interfaces from the OPNSesne gui as shown here:  https://docs.opnsense.org/manual/how-tos/ntopng.html

There is no option to select the interfaces ?!?  Under REDIS I enabled all interfaces but that didn't seem to help . . .

Any hints would be welcome!

Enable "Advanced" on the top left

Now why didn't I think of that ?!?  ::)  Strangely, I can only select one interface to listen to ?!? Is that by design?

I just tried it with the main LAN interface and I still don't get any result from the network discovery

Her's the results after a network discovery scan

Everything related to ntop itself you better discuss at their channel

Just got a reply from maintainer of ntopng plugin:

"Hi @emsofo please follow our instruction for ntopng installation in OPNSense, https://www.ntop.org/guides/ntopng/what_is_ntopng.html#installing-on-opnsense-pfsense the ntopng plugin on their system is no more supported.
In case you have still problems even after installing the official ntopng, please reopen the issue."

So the plugin is no longer supported ?!?  Maybe it should be removed?

So recommended way is no longer applicable:
https://www.ntop.org/guides/ntopng/third_party_integrations/opnsense.html#opnsenseintegration

It is not supported by then it seems, but the core features are still working an maintained by FreeBSD package maintainer

"Core features" like network discovery don't seem to work - and if it's no longer supported, then there is no one to turn to if something breaks . . . I will try the other method of installing directly and see what happens . . .

Thx,
R.Fox

"the ntopng plugin on their system is no more supported"

WTF? I'm happy to remove it in that case if they can't be bothered to support it but ship their own version which was an open source copy of Michael's work which they don't want to support but still do for their own purpose.

Cheers,
Franco

Apologies for reactivating this post - but now have latest OPNsense (24.1.6) and newer ntopng plugin 1.3 which has ntopng Community v.6.0.240416 rev.0 (FreeBSD 13.2)

Want to confirm that issue still exists with discovery as per picture above - I can not perform discovery because only network seek on every interface is 8.0.0.0 ?!?  NTopng won't help because it's a plugin - they recommend installing it manually ?!?  ::)
