Proxy Authentication "Local Database"
« on: July 06, 2016, 01:14:28 pm »
Ï have installed OpnSense in a jiffy, and all is working ok, execept for "Proxy Authentication"
Before implementing LDAP and Active directory, i wanted to test is before.

I allready added a group, with proxy authentication, and added a user to that group.

But i keeps popping up with username/password

Any help would be apprectiated

if it pop up with the user/password.
is either wrong password, or the user doesn't have the access to build the tunnel.
can you check the user access ? also try to reset the password to something easy like kissmebabe and test it.
sometimes long passwords are difficult to understand.

How does this manifest. The authentication is simply not accepted or does it want to re-authenticate frequently?

Did you add "Local Database" to the authentication method setting in the proxy?

Feedback from Ad said that normally the squid log shows more info on what went wrong during authentication.

Running the following form a shell  can also help to pinpoint proxy auth issues:

# /usr/local/etc/inc/squid.auth-user.php
