Device suggestions

Hello, I'm trying to get suggestions about what device should I purchase that would suit my needs. Ideally I don't want anything rack mounted or nothing like that. I'm looking for a small device that fits in my 17"x30" network panel. I want my setup to be ISP modem > (Device for routing/FW) > 8 port hub for various network runs and maybe a separate port for my Wireless.
I see some devices like the NanoPi R6S which has 3 ports that would allow me to run the wireless AP separate from the hub. It also fits my budget but I'm not quite sure if it's compatible or how complicated the setup is. Looking for something semi beginner friendly.
So something like...
ISP>(Routing device) > 8 port hub > LAN Devices
> Wireless Access Point
The NanoPiR6S also fits my budget but I'm not quite sure if it's compatible or how complicated the setup is. Looking for something semi beginner friendly. Trying to be up and running in under $150 USD. Thank you!
Let me know if this is the wrong section or other questions, please.

Thank you very much for your suggestion! I did a bit of reading on that link and most of that seems out of reach or just not really what is idea for my setup. I do appreciate the help though!
